Trochanter Fracture

Trochanter FractureAre steroid injections for?

8 months ago, I broke my little trochanter while skating. I have been struggling with this injury since then and we have seen many specialists who have tried their best to help.

During the summer, some physiotherapists gave me a list of exercises to do to strengthen my muscles and help me get back to skating. Unfortunately, the years have only made it worse that I am still limping because of pain in my leg. I went through an MRI and several other tests. The only thing they can see is that my bones are not returned to its place of origin and it never will. Doctors do not want to work because they fear it will only make things worse.
They said that my bones are broken into a million peices because it is so small.

Last week, I still saw another specialist who has proposed a steroid injection (cortisione). He also told me that I had a ruptured tendon near my lesser trochanter.

Anyway, I just wondered if a steroid injection was well worth it .. T it heal my wounds? Are there risks? Do you recommend something else?
Thank you youu

Steroids are fine when used this way. Please be aware of cortisone can be "very" painful when injected - it is thick and irritating to tissues, but it really works.

There are some other things while using the therapy and steroids, which can contribute to calcification of the fracture. Avoid coffee and tea are the two leachers calcium. Avoid sugar insulin metabolism consumes calcium from the blood stream and makes it less available for bone formation. Take a little magnesium, because it helps the body metabolize calcium.

Also, if you compete you may seriously be disqualified for a period of time until the steroids clear your system.

success

sure

Ask your doctor.

Corticosteroids, as they suggest are well in the short term. They diminish the immune response namely swelling and pain. They are not anabolic steroids like people kind of abuse for the betterment of sport. They have side effects on many organs like the kidneys long term. The risk is that if the swelling and reduce pain, you can force the affected tissue. Be careful and easy about it. I take these long-term injuries to former rugby and to prevent the rejection of my transplant. The laboratory work must be maintained if you are prescribed long term.

Yes. Steroids may be beneficial, especially in your case, whether monitoring by your doctor. They cause stress on your internal organs, and most people who use them illegally use them irresponsibly, without the correct dosage. However, being monitored by the doctor makes sure that nothing negative would arise to take, even if they have side effects.
