Thickening Of The Uterus Wall

I'm seventeen and still a virgin (I do not know if this matters or not, but there). I complained to my mother and my period irregular bleeding and random back pain. She took me to doctors who do the ultrasound and said they found two cysts (one on each ovary) and my wall of the uterus is thickening. I looked for this line but only found information for postmenopausal women. I'm nervous that I have cancer, or I will not be able to have children ... They said that cysts are quite normal, and birth control would be the best option. But I do not know what are the effects of a uterus is thickening ...
