Bladder cancer in remission metastasis. Is the surgical removal of the bladder possible? Is robot or other surgical procedure for removal of the bladder possible at this stage may be followed by adjuvant chemotherapy, for a cure? As it stands, the prognosis is for a short life expectancy, unless the bladder can be removed to improve the chances of a happier outcome. The tumor is important in the bladder (I am told). I try to know to help a friend if anyone can make comments will be appreciated.
I'm sorry for your friend ....

I tried .... Hope this helps.
Good luck.
In stage 4 bladder removed does not change the result, it is not curable at this stage and it is major surgery. The goal of treatment is to prolong life while reducing symptoms.
Metastatic cancer means the cancer has spread beyond its primary site. If cancer originates in the bladder and metastatic means it is no longer confined to the bladder.
patient's oncologist is best placed to answer your question. Each patient is different and treatment decisions are based on the state of the disease, the potential benefits of treatment against the risks involved and the patient's general health. Surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are possible, but their effectiveness is likely based on the personal situation of the patient.
You can read about the treatment of bladder cancer and the prognosis on the link attached. The Merck Manual is an excellent reference source.
