Can anyone tell me some signs of an incompetent cervix that I could not find on the site, home signs? I had a miscarriage before and unfortunately it was deemed no reason misfortunate. I am pregnant again, about 10 weeks and reading I think I could have a neck low and will need a point, but we want to be sure of this before going ahead with this decision and how I might have to be extra careful until the stitch.
Honestly, there are no symptoms. It is diagnosed by performing a transvaginal ultrasound to determine the length of your cervix. Talk to your doctor and he / she should be able to perform ultrasound and make a diagnosis. Good luck!
Where were you when you miscarried? If you were still in your first quarter, it was probably not due to IC. IC is diagnosed after a loss in its second quarter or rarely found before the loss of routine transvaginal ultrasound showed that shortening or funneling of the cervix.
This is something that can not be diagnosed until it has happened. Then, your ob will be able to stictch subsequent pregnancies. Talk to your OB about your concerns.
