Are there pills that have proven to reverse bone loss (bone loss that push)? My dentist says I have a little bone loss in a region.
Usually, when your dentist tells you that you have suffered a little bone loss, that is exactly what it is - a little. It is fair to give you a brush head to keep well (think of a Sonicare toothbrush) and flossing daily. Continue to see your dentist / hygienist for regular cleanings and X-rays (to keep a check on bone loss). If he was really serious, you would DMD recommended you see 3 + times a year instead of the regular time for two cleanings.
Having a bit of bone loss is common among adults. No drugs are available to push the bone, if it is increasing significantly, surgery (bone graft) can be done. But if so, you can have more things that the bone loss and would need to be checked by your GP, too.
Do not worry too much. Just keep going for tests. If the area of the gum is pink and firm and you are generally in good health, you should be okay. Keeping control over the region, and if you have any concerns Call your dentist.
Fosamax - for osteoporosis
There are pills that help to stop the process of bone loss, like Fosamax, but these pills will not regrow bone loss.
