Understanding ovarian cancer Ovarian cancer is a disease of women and it is rising. We women had to take care of ourselves every day. Even so, no matter how much food we eat and how much health we do, unfortunately, sometimes it is not enough.
The ovaries are the reproductive glands that produce eggs. There is one ovary on each side of the uterus in the pelvis. The egg moves into the fallopian tube and in a prolific baby. Ovarian cancer begins in the ovaries. Many tumors may develop in the ovaries. Most of them are not cancerous, they can be removed by removing part of the ovary, the tumor or the ovary itself. If the tumor is cancerous it can spread throughout the body and can be more complicated.
Your ovaries are three types of tissue:
The epithelial cells covering the ovary.
germ cells located in the ovary and develop into eggs that are released into the fallopian tube that are published each month.
Stromal cells, which develops most of the female hormones estrogen and progesterone.
The tumors are named according to which the cells of the tumor originated. It could be benign (not cancerous) and cancer. There are three ways to say what kind of tumor it is to check all three tissues.
The tumor epithelium covers most of the ovary. Most tumors found prove this tumor.
The germ cell tumors from a part where the eggs develop in the ovary.
Stromal tumor is the connective tissue that holds the ovary together.
Epithelial tumors usually do not spread and / or cause serious diseases. Malignant tumors are cancerous and can spread to parts of the body. Noncanerous tumors of different malignant cancer they do not grow in the connective tissue and stomach. The benign tumor can develop at a young age and even if it can be fatal in most cases, it is not. The epithelial ovarian cancer is called carcinoma. 85% -90% of ovarian cancer is epithelial. Here are the different types of ovarian cancer.
Fallopian tube cancer is very rare, it is usually the same symptoms as cancer of the ovary. It begins in the tube that carries the egg from the ovary to the uterus. The survival rate is substantially the same too.
Germ cells Germ cells Tumor-shaped eggs. Some such tumors can be benign. Sometimes it can be life threatening, only 5% of germ cell tumors are cancer of the ovary.
Teratoma, are germ cell cancers, they are the most common cancers. In general, they affect women in their forties and adolescents, it is called a dermoid cyst, because it resembles the skin. It may be different types of tissues such as bones, hair and teeth. It can be removed by surgery.
Dysgerminomas-is a common cancer as well. It affects women in their twenties and teens. It is usually cancerous, some do not grow or grow fast. About 75% of patients underwent removal of the ovary, if it has spread.
Stromal tumors, found mainly among women in their fifties. These tumors represent about 5% -7% of ovarian cancer. 5% of young girls to develop this tumor. The symptoms are abnormal vaginal bleeding, something like a period that occurs after menopause. This happens because the tumor can cause female hormones, it can also cause breast development and menstruation in girls early.
Ovarian cysts are an accumulation of fluid in the ovaries. They are usually not fatal, among women ovulation occurs and does not go through menopause. If it occurs while you are in menopause and in a young girl who has not started to menstruate is concerned may opt.
