Ovarian Cyst Spotting

I was diagnosed last week with a large ovarian cyst. I have a very constant pain where my right ovary is. Today I started to spot, but my period is not supposed to go for two more weeks. The doctor said that if there are changes I have to go to the hospital. Is stains with a normal ovarian cyst or should I be worried?
