Fatigue associated with menstruation. What could be causing this? When you are bleeding you lose iron which causes fatigue. Try taking iron tablets if your cycle is to see if it helps.
I do not know about severe fatigue, but I think that all women have a little woozy during their period due to loss of blood. It was worse for me when I was in college. Basically, I had ridden my first two days of my period. Now I have just a little sleepy.
Premenstrual Syndrome and Dysmenorrhea
Many women experience painful menstruation, or dysmenorrhea. Uterine contractions that cause the cramps experienced by these women appear to be caused by hormones called prostaglandins that are produced in the second half of the cycle. Oral contraceptives and other medications that reduce the production of prostaglandins are sometimes used in treatment. Other symptoms such as women undergo behavioral changes, breast tenderness, and fatigue during the week immediately preceding menstruation, a condition known as premenstrual syndrome or PMS.

You can consult your doctor to have it checked your iron levels, then if it is low maybe some over the counter iron tablets. Good luck, hope this helps! :)
Anemia can be? Ask your doctor. Eat more iron ... I found a steak and / or spinach helps perk me up when I'm tired during the "era".
