Medicaid Look Back Period

Medicaid Look Back PeriodMedicaid look-back?

My mother is in an assisted living facility that currently use her savings to pay. When her savings depleted, Medicaid help but have a look-back period of 5 years (what money does shespend during this period). Can she still make birthday gifts or money to Medicaid will pay the beneficiary if she gets it back in 5 years?

The question is, how she left. There are several ways to provide income for 5 years if she has enough to pay for assisted living. When done, she can gift $ 11,000 per year per child. However, she will not do so if that 11,000 will keep him out of Medicaid. Make sure you and your brothers and sisters get insurance long term care for young people so that this does not happen to you! Is she sick? It may still be able to qualify for long-term care. Hope this helps.
