Maine law says on doctors withholding pain medication narcodic after a pain specialist says U Need? I went to 2 pain specialist for my back, which I shall not go into details of all thats wrong with me. But two of them told my doctor that I needed to be on my pain med where OXYCON not oyxycoton, but codon. and she refuses to give them to me because I am an alcoholic in recovery of 9 years. I've been on them for 5 months and everything is fine then she took me to them, I'm in pain 24 / 7 and do not know what I would do.
I do not know the full scope of your back problems. But I recommend a non-medication. Try chiropractic, acupuncture. Both are great pain, even long-time back (depending on what is wrong with you, of course).
Sorry, I know it's not really answer your question, but I hope it offers alternatives healtier. Good luck!
If specialists are physicians should be able to prescribe a painkiller for you regardless of your health care provider primary said. Or am I just not understand your question?
Now, do not throw something at me. Try to see this point of view of your physican. Is it possible to take the painkillers have done all they can do for you, especially after five months, and you are now addicted to them? Is that why you're in pain?
Have you tried non-medical tools to cope with your pain? There are many options out there.
