So you get LASIK surgery. Great, you're on your way to enjoy vastly improved vision without the hassle of glasses or contacts. However, you may be a little anxious to get through the recovery phase after surgery without any problems.

Do not worry too much about it. Lasik is a quick process that takes 15 minutes to complete, if the recovery is not too intense. However, there are some things to keep in mind that will help your healing process goes well.

First, relax. In fact, it may be better to go to bed immediately after the operation. Do not watch television, use computers, read a book, or any other similar activity. Your eyes must be relaxed, and sleep is one of the best ways to make sure.

Do not wear makeup or use any perfume or cologne. Dust and smoke can cause irritation that may interfere with the recovery process.

You should wear sunglasses just after the operation, until your eyes have recovered. Also, do not take a shower, because the spray of water could cause problems. Choose bathes, instead. Also, avoid any kind of dusty environments during the payback period. Do not drink alcohol for at least two ways after surgery

Also, make sure you do not rub your eyes at all. Your doctor should give you a mask that will help shield your eyes, but since your eyes will be slightly itching and irritation, you might be tempted to cheat. You need to exercise self control and avoid doing so.

After a day or two, the itching should begin to clear, and your vision should be much clearer, however, complete recovery may take up to six months. Just take it easy, and wait for complete healing of. However, the precautions described above apply only early days.

Also, make sure you follow all other instructions given to you by the doctor. Attend all appointments followed, because they are essential to measure the success of your operation.

Thus, most of this is pretty common sense. Just protect your eyes against flying particles, fumes, and strain. As mentioned above, one of the best ways to recover is to simply relax and get some sleep. When you wake up, you will be enjoying better, a clearer vision than ever, thanks to the miracle of laser eye surgery.
