Laparoscopic Vaginal Hysterectomy

When the doctor thinks you should have one of the following?

abdominal hysterectomy
Vaginal hysterectomy
Laparoscopic hysterectomy

Please do not give me the definitions of each, since I already research. What I am asking is under what circumstances does the doctor suggest one or the other?

I had a laparoscopic vaginal hysterectomy last year. My swollen uterus to have endometriosis and adenomyosis, at the same time and it seemed that I was 4 months pregnant! Although I was swollen it was better for me to have the procedure vaginally for him to release it in pieces and I already had four C-sections in my past when he was not desirable to create another incision. There is less recovery time of the procedure vaginally. I was miserable and my hormones and menstrual cycle was so crazy I had 2 periods a month and sometimes skipped month.My doctor did not recommend surgery until I did some research for me and which alternatives are available. I wanted the surgery since my research has shown that, with adenomyosis there is no curable treatment unless you have a hysterectomy. I was already of childbearing age if I had no reason to detain him. I chose to keep my ovaries since I'm only 37 and do not want to be forced into premature menopause.Hope this info helped.

I do not know much about the different types of hysterectomies, but I know that if you have an enlarged uterus your doctor might be more prone to abdominal hysterectomy, because it would be easier to remove the uterus.
