Or is it the same because I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and seeking information, I keep seeing inflammatory and I wonder if its the same thing or not.

Inflammatory and invasive breast cancer are given these names because they have symptoms. But having one does not mean that you have the other. For example: a person may have a headache or a brain tumor. But having one or the other does not mean that you have the other.
Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is characterized by some or all of these symptoms: the nipple can be flat or inverted, sudden onset (perhaps more than a few days / weeks) swelling of the breast, nipple discharge, pain or itching, redness, which may resemble the breast is infected, or thick areas feeling the chest. The symptoms and appearance of the IPC may occasionally cause a physician to misdiagnosis of a patient with a simple infection, and some believe mammography can be inconclusive because of the density of the breast at the time of swelling.
invasive breast cancer is classified in stages 1-5, and its higher ranks has the traits of invading other parts of the body. This means that the cancer has spread outside of the membrane of breast ducts, where it usually begins (stage 0). It does not necessarily mean that spreads throughout the body. Most likely it has spread to tissues surrounding the breast.
