Hysterectomy Recovery Period

Hysterectomy Recovery Periodhysterectomy recovery?

I have fibroids in my uterus and was told that I would have a partial hysterectomy. The procedure is performed vaginally. I'm really looking forward to it! I'm in pain every day, fibroids are against my bladder and frequent periods with heavy bleeding and cramps are driving me crazy! I want to know realistically I will be able to return to work in a week? I am in pain almost constantly. I had a caesarean section 20 years ago and I keep hearing the same about his recovery. Is this realistic? I'm 38 years old and not in the best shape ...

Even done vaginally, one week is a little too motivated. Most likely, you'll need at least 2 weeks (or more if necessary, given your own personal circumstances pain tolerance and health). Even after the restrictions are likely to be imposed in terms of raising certain amounts of weight, sitting too long, sexual activity, bathing, etc. Plan on taking two weeks, he will only know that the time has if you need to be able to recover your way. Good luck!

According to friends who have had a hysterectomy (some done vaginally) the average recovery time is about six weeks. As to when you will be able to return to work is hard to say. I would recommend to reconnect with your doctor to let them know that you have additional questions about the operation after and when you will be able to get to work.
