Can you get HPV / cervical cancer of the uterus if you and your friend has been with each other? My friend and I were both virgins until we slept with each other, and we used a condom every time. Can we still have an STD or can I get HPV / cervical cancer of the uterus?
While you're absolutely positive that none of you have been with someone else, then you can not have or get sexually transmitted HPV strains. Remind yourself against HPV is a virus that causes all warts on any part of your body. There are over 100 all together.
What you can still get cervical cancer. It just will not be attributed to HPV. It is caused by cells that you already have in your cervix changing and these changes are turning malignant. Whether you're sexually active or not, once you're 18, you should have regular Pap smears to reduce your chances of developing cancer of the cervix naturally.
If your friend has been with anyone else, there is no virus, it may rise from his genitals to you.
There is another way to get viruses transmitted to your genital area well and it is through oral sex. If your friend has a virus of herpes (coldsores - active or inactive) in his system and he performs oral sex on you, and if you do not have the same strain of herpes virus like him in the mouth already, then he can send his coldsores from his mouth, directly to your genitals.
Coldsores are then known as genital herpes, but they are the same thing in a different place.
