High Glycemic Foods

Posted on March 5, 2010.
High Glycemic FoodsWhat are high and low glycemic index food?

Is high glycemic like candy, chips and junk food basically fair? Is the high glycemic carbohydrates like bad? Also, why is it bad?

Glycemic index is the speed at which your body can not digest and absorb carbohydrates. For example, oats have a low GI score, fruit juice or candy will be considering a high score. The scores of low GI foods are preferable because they provide a steady supply of glucose from your body. Simple sugars often peak insulin and lead to many problems such as type 2 diabetes
