Fibroids And FertilityFibroids and Fertility

If you have been diagnosed and who are considering having a child, you may be wondering if the fibroids and fertility problems go hand in hand. What you do not want to spend a month trying to conceive, only to fail and then learn that you could do something.

Fibroids do sometimes affect the pregnancy, but certainly not always. Some women develop normally and go through pregnancy without complications at all, while for others the situation is very different.

Fibroids are noncancerous tumors of muscle tissue that form inside or, more rarely, around the uterus. They are more common among women in their thirties or forties and can sometimes lead to sterility. The increasing tendency for women to have children later in life is why fibroids are more factors than before.

Before explaining more about the specific ways fibroids can affect fertility and pregnancy, I would like to relate the experiences of three women whose stories were told in a recent article on fibroids.

1. Eva wanted someone had sat at 30 and told her she needed to have babies "now". She had been postponed and now 40, suffered three miscarriages as a result of fibroids. Incredibly, it was only after the third abortion fibroids were seen on a scan. She requested a private treatment and 15 had surgical removal of fibroids and I knew that the procedure might affect his chances of conception in the future. She felt she had no choice because it believed that, even if it was easy to conceive, she would have had another miscarriage.

2. At 37 years, Leona had fibroids and found that his treatment is not satisfactory. She asked her doctor if there was a link between fibroids and fertility, as she tried to conceive, and she had a self-diagnosis. It was non-committal and had to even fight to get a scan, the doctor was contemptuous. The analysis found several large fibroids and were subsequently withdrawn. She described the experience as "the worst of his life," as she needed a blood transfusion after due to severe bleeding. Then she caught three separate infections while in hospital, which required antibiotic treatment and was readmitted to hospital after being at home with a burst abscess. Finally, infection authorized but has not yet developed and now fears that the transaction has canceled his chances.

A doctor, she spoke to said that if a woman wants to get pregnant after fibroid surgery, the operation must be performed by a surgeon in fertility.

3. Diana, 39 started to bleed during pregnancy. The local hospital told her she was having a miscarriage. Months later, she discovered that she had not miscarried, but it has fibroids started to bleed. However, she miscarried a month to the line and had a scan. The doctor has found a number of large fibroids, which he could prevent pregnancy or cause problems during the term if she conceived. At 40, she had a procedure to remove fibroids and 17-41, she conceives a child. During caesarean section, it was found that a number of fibroids are left blocking the birth canal and were removed during the procedure. However, she lost six pints of blood and was dangerously ill, fortunately recovered.

The stories above are examples of fibroids and fertility problems.

In general, there is a known list of complications and possible questions and these are: -
