Enlarged Uterus Symptoms

My mother was "sick" for about a year now. She finally went to a doctor and had numerous tests, including running a slurry. It was during the porridge she learned her uterus was the same size as a woman 20 weeks pregnant! Of course, a pregnancy test was done - negative (56 for her great relief). She had an ultrasound and the results showed nothing. She had removed and tested pollups but revealed nothing as to why it was so bad. Its symptoms are fever every night and it is very sore. His doctor told him that the uterus was enlarged probably caused by menopause. Has anyone ever heard or experienced this? If yes, what course of treatment or remedy has helped? I wish him get a second opinion just Incase. Any information you have about his situation would be greatly appreciated.

I am 37 and have started the hot flashes ect .. absolutely miserable! 3 years ago I was told I had an enlarged uterus, and that fear has kept me away from the office Drs ..
