Degenerative Lumbar Spondylosis

Posted on March 5, 2010.
Degenerative Lumbar SpondylosisHas anyone ever heard of thoracic or lumbar spondylosis?

I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease in my early 20s. I had lower back pain on and off for years but last year it became severe and chronic. I am now 43. I was on Disabilty and drugs, but nothing seems to help. Physiotherapy seemed to do worse. Yesterday, I was told that lumbar spondylosis and thoracic bone spurs, and they sent me to cord injections. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Did it help at all? Will I ever be able to return to work or normal life??? I try to stay active, but I hurt so badly and often have numbness and weakness in the legs. I am so discouraged. If anyone knows anything about this please tell me what you know. Thank you.

OMG, I have something very very close .. I'm in pain all the time, is taking drugs, shooting and therapy, I am my last resort is the merger ..
I had 3 shots in my back .. I was a disc budgled spongylostheis and L4-L5, pain down my left leg to my hip all the way to my feet .. horrible pain ...
I do not know what kind of cord you'll have injections but I had an epidural and nerve block shots down. They are both temporary, the first I had that they never botherd to numb the area at all, I felt the needle go all the way in. want to die. This one was a joke! I felt good for a week if that .. the second is down a little better, but it does not really either, the pain was gone for about maybe 2-3 weeks .. that one didn't hurt as bad as the previous ...
last ... was what they called a nerve block shot and was involved .. I found myself with a headache for a week .. I was miserable .. But it does feel much better for longer ..... it was great ... my leg does not hurt, etc etc. .. But soon, after a month maybe more, the pain returned and it was worse than B4! Maybe its because when I start to feel better as I start to do things that I should not. I'm only 31 are occupied this year by 2.5 .. been in pain every day ... what kind of picture you're going to have etc. ..
after you have the sudden you can not go home. you have to sit and try please try not to move to much .. or you can make you very sick! Good luck to you!

Its a bit like crazy if you do crazy and if you do not .. Good luck to you, hope everything goes well for you .. Flag

Spondylosis (not to be confused with spondylolysis or spondylolisthesis) is the same as disc degeneration.

Degenerative disc disease is a bit misleading because degneration disc is a normal process. In fact, approximately 30% of the population without pain degenerative disc disease at least when they are 30. By the time we reach 60, it is almost 100%. In other words, the mere presence of a degenerative disc disease has no particular impact on whether someone has symptoms. This does not mean that the disc degeneration ... especially an abnormal amount of degeneration of the age of a person ... may not cause symptoms. What we do not yet know exactly why two people who have the same number of degeneration may have a completely different sense of symptoms (or no).

To say the least, we know that chronic back pain is multifactorial. The strongest links to chronic back pain (in addition to physical evidence ... that does not correlate well with symptoms) include excessive weight, smoking, poor coping strategies, depression, anxiety and poor job satisfaction. We can speculate why, but simply our mind affects our pain, as well as our bodies, smoking simply does horrible things to our bodies, and metabolic disorders have eff.
