Do I get a second opinion on this complex cyst? A month ago, I went to the room meergency with severe abdominal pain (thought it was appendicitis). I was given a barium enema (ouch!). When he returned he said that I did not do that, but I had a complex ovarian cyst on my right, measuring 3.5 cm of the ovary. Last week, I went to see my doctor who said they would do a sonogram in a month to see if she grew up. I got a copy of the film, and it shows what I think looks like a large amount of free fluid (ascites?) Is it supposed to be?) I used this information and did research on ovarian cysts and symptoms, but it always seems to return to ovarian cancer. I am 32 years old. I have no risk factors for ovarian cancer, but I'm scared to death. As I sit here today, I just want to cry. Do I get a second opinion on a month of waiting, or should I just wait the month and see what happens? I read so many misdiagnoses OC or neglected until it is too late. I'm really at a loss, and would feel better if I could just get opinions.
There is no relationship between ovarian cyst and ovarian cancer.
Almost all women have an ovarian cyst at some time or another. Usually, we do not know about it, because they usually disappear on their own.
3.5 cm is really not very big. Nobody wants to make sure, if it persists, and does not resolve.
free fluid around the cyst might indicate that the rupture. This is not a bad thing - it's the normal process. Once it breaks it goes.
Ovarian cysts are usually managed expectantly, which means "wait and see." If it grows, it may need surgery. If he goes, the better.
Sometimes, oral contraceptives are given. This bike hormone may help solve a cyst.
Finally, let me reassure you that a cyst is different from a cancer on an ultrasound. A cyst is filled with liquid, and black eyes. Cancer is a solid mass that is gray and not well defined.
Talk to your doctor (NOT the people in the emergency room) on how to handle this. You really do not want unnecessary surgery.
I would have taken shortly. I had cramps for a few years, and Dr. suggested an ultrasound when I finally went. I had a cyst as big as my fist! It was benign (dermoid cyst) because most are. But I do not want something in my body, which should not be there, also had a breast lump removed the same week (benign). I'm sure he's fine and so small anyway, but the exit. Good luck.
I do not want to wait another month. I had surgery for the same thing on November 23, 2006. I can not even imagine your doc tells you to wait! Especially through a new period with it in there, it's so painful! Do not wory ov cancer, in most cases, they are not. I was also afraid to wait for test results, but if you also had blood drawn as part of your tests, your white blood cells that have been through the roof if there was a kind of cancer. If they did not draw blood, then ask for one. Do not just what the doctor will tell you if you're not comfortable with it. Get another opinion. The surgery was not bad at all, he was ambulatory, and I was back at work five days later. Good luck!
Ive had a cyst near what you described and it dropped me to the hospital. Usually, these passes and generates abdominal pain that you've described. If the largest and they expect to grow id get a second opinion because they often must be removed surgically, especially if they dont pass.
For a cyst of this size Ayurveda medicines and treatments panchkarma simple. No surgery is done. respond to a ayurvedist nearby. even homeopathy has simple solutions.
If you're concerned about it, I would go see someone now. It's always good to get a second opinion on these kinds or things anyway.
Yo.
