I was awake at night sweating the last week and a bit since the beginning of weaning, I was afraid it might be a sign of something more serious than I am just recovering from an episode cystitis.

Is it possible that you have mastitis (breast infection)? Sometimes, when you wean, your breasts continue to make more milk your baby drinks, the milk ducts filled stay, so you can develop an infection.
