Canine cataract? I just got back from the vet and she said there is a possibility that my dog 1 1 / 2 years of cataract. I will get her the surgery, but I was wondering if anyone had a ballpark figure how much it costs. Thank you.
$ 1200 - $ 1500 per eye.
Please be aware that all cataracts because of a dog. In addition, you should know that * if * you choose to do the operation, or sooner rather than later that there may be more damage over time which makes it difficult to get a new plastic lens in.
See an ophthalmologist veterinary .. or 2 (I would see 2).
TELL your breeder. It is a genetic defect.
Josh my mother jack russell had a cataract in the left eye. they said it would cost for 1500-1700 for the surgery. it is better to try to do as soon as possible. Report Abuse
I think it's quite expensive, maybe a thousand or more. The best thing would be to call around the veterinary ophthalmologists in the area and ask. Or if you have a veterinary college nearby.
You need a second opinion before starting the bombing of withdrawal. It's one of those "money makers Hot for veterans today. Going to the doctor a more experienced old before the operation and get another opinion.
Get your dog (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) CERF tested. This is only about $ 35 and give you a more complete result and options on what to do.
