Candida In Dogs

I was wondering if there was a home treatment for dogs with yeast Candida. I have a black labrador with a severe case of infection, but the vet prescribed only a bottle of pills to be taken twice daily, administered every few months of the veterinary office does not have a lasting effect if no longer be administered and are very expensive.
