Breast Cancer Mastectomy

Posted on March 15, 2010.
Breast Cancer MastectomyBreast cancer - mastectomy and after treatment. Has he had experience of it?

I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I am having a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I rebuild option in the same time, but I am concerned about the effect of radiation on it. Can anyone offer me advice or tell me their experience of it all? This is obviously troubling and scary and I'm making a decision.

Not a personal standpoint, but I have a nursing perspective.
I have seen women underwent mastectomy and reconstruction of refuse ... Some have done later, others opt for this solution at the time of mastectomy. In this situation, I would rebuild the same time. His trauma of having to undergo major surgery a second time when everything can be done at once. Radiation therapy does not affect the reconstruction. If you want to rebuild I advise you to have done at the same time. It causes less trauma mentally too. It may be difficult for a woman to adjust to not having undergone breast surgery. Self-esteem tends to be higher (in my observation) in women who have had mastectomy and reconstruction.

my niece she was, she is so proud of his new boobs.I was in hospital with a lady, had a big year before she said I have one off now that they wanted to do a lumpectomy I told them to jump off the thing, though it was a way of thinking when I had to fab a bump I still think this lady what courage, my breasts have been sorted thank God abscess lumps in the nipple sorry to hear from you so bad, but always think positive, easy for me to say but I was in hospital with a large number of HIV positive women who were lucky with the all clear although surgery and chemotherapy xx

I've never been there, but it could facilitate the process. My suggestion is serious vitimin C. The RDA said 64 milligrams per day. Linus Pauling who won two Nobel prizes for his work on C vitimin organic chemistry and a minimum of 1,000 mg per day and 2000 mg if you are sick. I had something, so far, doctors have no idea what it was, but I was flat on my back for two weeks in November and usually in Feb. I went on C saw when I got sick and after a few years, I have never been sick again. During this time I was sick, I took a variable amount daily and followed a bell curve in the two weeks. I was up to 40,000 mg per day at a given time, 300,000 mg for 2 weeks. It was a narrow range had to maintain. If I took too much I have diarrhea and if I took too long as I was sick. In this range, I was totally asymptomatic. You should drink plenty of water because Vitamin C is a natural diarretic. In addition, you tell your doctor or dissolve kidney calcification, but drink water and it should go. A couple of years had a report that said the best fighter of cancer was interferon - to $ 15,000 per gram - but he also said that interferon is a decay product of natural vitamin C in your system . Shortly after they tried to make Vit C by perscription only. Guess why. Good luck.

I had a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy in 1995.
I would have had the opportunity of reconstruction at the time, it was not available or available at the time.
There will be 12 years since my operation next March, and although I was offered reconstrution few years later, I've not had.
If I were you I'd do it now.

Go to Breastcancer.org. They have a chat room. It would be a question you may want to ask women out there. Good luck.

I just made myself - and I chose not to undergo breast reconstruction. l was worried that my body can reject it, as happened to one of my friends.
It has been a year now since I finished my chemotherapy - and I'm very well - very healthy. You will too. Just believe in life and take each day at first. Good luck a.
