Bioidentical progesterone? I have PCOS and suffer all the symptoms: weight gain, infertility, hair loss, irregular periods. I did some reading about bio-identical progesterone, and I think it can be a great help. Have you tried? What do you think? Did it for you? Thank you in advance!
I have PCOS, and no, I have not personally tried the bioidentical progesterone (or any other bio-identical hormones). However, be aware that there have been few studies, and despite what these companies demand bioidentical (as Suzanne Sommers), doctors agree there is no best benefits of bioidentical that with regular synthetic hormones. And indeed, there may be adverse effects or fewer benefits than the regular way. Is there some reason you plan to choose bio-identical version, rather than the synthesis? Also, did you consider metformin to help regulate hormones in women with PCOS (which I am currently and have had great success with the extent of my symptoms). Maybe you should get a second opinion doctor and discuss with them to see what options they were on the table for you (options vary from one doctor to the most ... and perhaps a new physician will think of something during your doctor does not think that ... does not necessarily mean you have to use this new doctor to treat real property). Good luck!
You know ... No one actually answered my question .... report abuse
I take the right bioidentical progesterone and it is now proven its effectiveness. Side effects are trim your waistline, increased libido, regulating the menstrual cycle, etc. Talk to your doctor about this and see if it is good for you. Flag
I take bio-identical progesterone, and it helps me sleep, as I tend to have frequent insomnia ... He also stabalizes mood swings. I had zero side effects from it and recommend it. Report Abuse
Bioidentical prog would be safest treatment, but getting a pharmacist mix of experience for advice and referral to a physician
