Artificial Cervical Disc

I found a site that says that in 2007 one of the "models" have been approved for use finally. But I'm told by some doctors and some websites that none of them are approved by the FDA. Even if they are not approved, I would be willing to participate in a study so I can get it in place of fusion surgery, or even waiting to be approved if it is not going to be years. Does anybody know something about this?
