Anal Psoriasis

Posted on March 1, 2010.
Anal PsoriasisDo I have genital psoriasis??

I am a gay man. I recently embarked on my first experience of anal sex (with condoms). After the first experiment, I noticed two small red spots on the base of my penis. It progessively transformed into large red spots that appeared to originate from the folds of my penis (I'm circumcised semi). The spots do not itch or hurt in any way. Some of the places later became slightly dry. After one week, they cleared spots. I had sex a second time with a condom. No points right after the sex this time but two days later, showed the same points again in the same areas. I did lots of research online and all the symptoms seem to indicate Genital psoriasis (not herpes or other STDs). I have other small areas that I think is the psoriasis on my eyelid and on my arm. Does anyone know something more about genital psoriasis? The information I found is not too extensive. I would go see a doctor but my insurance is not too large. Can sex be a trigger for this??

Psoriasis does not disappear after one week. It could be dermatitis or eczema. You can see if hydrocortisone ointment applied for a few days made the spots disappear. If so, it is probably eczema. If this does not work, consult a dermatologist for a real answer.

Hey CD

Here are some ideas on how to heal the issue.

Cause
Psoriasis is metabolic in nature and can be triggered by environmental conditions or stress, poor diet, flu-like conditions, the administration of penicillin, and nutritional deficiencies. Patients with psoriasis are also at higher risk of rheumatic diseases.

Psoriasis can be caused by food allergies, deficiencies in essential fatty acids, digestive enzymes and low hydrochloric acid, vitamin B complex deficiency, emotional stress, illness, medications (such as beta-blockers , lithium, and chloroquine), poison ivy or oak, skin damage, and various infections, bacterial or viral origin.

Natural Cures

Aromatherapy: Essential oils are recommended: bergamot (to help heal skin plaques), lavender (to reduce excessive itching), Melissa (for irritated skin), jasmine (for dry and sensitive skin) geranium (for dry itchy skin), and Mysore sandalwood (for dehydrated, inflamed, and sensitive skin).

Food: the screen and eliminate all foods to which you are allergic or sensitive. Eat a varied diet of organic, whole foods, rotating as much as possible. Eliminating wheat products and corn for 1-3 months. Eat seafood rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as wild salmon, sardines, mackerel, herring, and each day on a rotating basis, take one tablespoon of olive oil or flaxseed and make sure you drink plenty of pure water, filtered. Organic beef, venison, poultry, garlic, onions, parsley, organic plain yogurt, and sauerkraut are also recommended.

Flower Essences: Rescue Remedy ® topical cream can relieve symptoms.

Herbs: Combine equal parts of burdock, sarsaparilla, and cleavers tinctures and take one teaspoon three times a day. Silymarin (milk thistle) is also helpful for psoriasis due to its positive effects on liver function.

Homeopathy: Useful homeopathic remedies include Psorinum, Sulfur, Graphites, Cuprum met. And Arsen dawn.

Hydrotherapy: Hydrotherapy is the application of water, ice, steam and hot and cold to maintain and restore health. Treatments include full body immersion, steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation and the application of heat and / or cold compresses. Hydrotherapy is effective for treating a wide range of conditions and can easily be used at home as part of a program of self-care. Many naturopathic doctors, physiotherapists and Day Spas use Hydrotherapy as part of treatment. I propose several hydrotherapy at home.
